Rex A. Sentell, D.V.M.is the Medical Director and founder of Palm City Animal Clinic, which he opened for Dr. Charles Hooks in 1981 with the option of buying it out, which he did in 1986. Along with his 8 veterinarian colleagues and a support staff of 30, he has been dedicated to the care of animals and to involvement in his community of Palm City for over 30 years. A native of Tennessee, Dr. Sentell was born and raised in Knoxville, where he attended the University of Tennessee, earning dual degrees and graduating with high honors with a B.A. of Zoology and Psychology. He remained at UT, attending the College of Veterinary Medicine, where he completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1980, graduating in the top 10% of his class. He practiced initially in the Knoxville area before relocating to Palm City, Florida to open the Palm City Animal Clinic.
In 2009, Dr. Sentell returned to the University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine to complete advanced training in the physical therapy and rehabilitation of aging and injured animals. A worldwide academic training and teaching center of excellence in the area of physical rehabilitation of small animals, UT pioneered this fairly new discipline in veterinary medicine in the 1990’s. Dr. Sentell brought these innovative physical therapy and rehab methods and treatments back to Palm City Animal Clinic, and continues to expand this aspect of services offered to facilitate the quality of life of animals.
Valuing the important role that businesses play in their communities, Dr. Sentell has been highly involved in community-related organizations and events throughout his career. He’s been an active member (and past-President) of the Palm City Chamber of Commerce since 1985, where he has assumed a variety of leadership roles. He currently serves on the Palm City Neighborhood Advisory Committee and continues to be active in Rotary International, where he has participated in numerous capacities, including serving as president in 1996-1997. The organization recently honored him as a Paul Harris Fellow for his contribution to the Paul Harris Foundation, one of the largest in the world.
Dr. Sentell is a former Board member of the American Cancer Society and is a member of the Florida Oceanographic Society. He belongs to a number of professional organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Florida Veterinary Association, the Central Florida Veterinary Medical Association, and the Treasure Coast Veterinary Association.
Though he likes to spend a good deal of his limited spare time researching new trends, procedures, and equipment in the veterinary field, Dr. Sentell is a dedicated family man who enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan, his two daughters, Amber and Brittany, and his stepson, Darin. When he is not caring for his own menagerie of pets - which currently includes four cats, two canine friends, Sierra and Winston, and a colorful collection of tropical fish - he can be found flying, scuba diving, reading, fishing, kayaking or pursuing his passion for photography.
Dr. Paul Wolff, D.V.M. joined the medical team at Palm City Medical Center in 1999 after practicing as an Associate Veterinarian and Primary Emergency Clinician in Palm Coast, FL, and then as an Associate Veterinarian in Boca Raton, FL. Born in New York City, he grew up living in many parts of the country, thanks to his father’s career as a dentist for the United States Navy.
While earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of California, Davis Dr. Wolff worked in the Vet School’s Department of Radiology. He went on to attend the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University, where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. During his training years, he participated in 5 preceptorship programs and was recognized as the recipient of the Senior Veterinary Research Award upon graduation. While training in these specialized settings - which included the Atlanta Humane Society and Clinic and the Reid Park Zoo - he gained valuable knowledge in Small Animal Medicine, expanding his surgical knowledge and expertise well beyond the standard veterinary curriculum.
Dr. Wolff is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Florida Veterinary Medical Association and the Treasure Coast Veterinary Medical Association. When not working at the Clinic, Dr. Wolff enjoys spending quality time with his family of pets. He says that because he doesn’t have any children without “fur or feathers,” he doesn’t see his pets as animals, but as family members. For him, that’s what makes his work rewarding, too. “We help the family members who are unable to explain what is wrong and who are the most helpless.”
Dr. Wolff’s love of the natural world and its creatures carries over to his free time interests, and he is an avid outdoorsman. A member of the Martin County Sportsman’s Association and Friends of the NRA, he can regularly be found pursuing his interests. These include mountain biking, motorcycle riding, weight training, boating, fishing, surfing, and skydiving. Over the years, his surfing adventures have led him to extensive explorations of Baja, Mexico and remote surf spots in Central America, and his skydiving prowess is a byproduct of over 700 jumps in nine states and three different countries.
Dr. Elizabeth Jolin was born and raised in Oklahoma. She studied at Oklahoma State University, where she received an honors degree in animal science. Dr. Jolin moved to Florida to attend the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2006. Starting her small animal veterinary career in Gainesville, Dr. Jolin moved to Palm City and began working at Palm City Animal Medical Center in 2013. That same year, she became certified as a Veterinary Acupuncturist, after completing the small animal acupuncture program at the Chi Institute. She appreciates incorporating the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine with those of modern medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Florida Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Jolin and her husband, Wesley, are the happy parents of two wonderful children, Mabel and Ryne. Together, they have had several dogs and cats, presently enjoying their pets, Magnolia, Alfie, Tater Tot, Dori, and Maddux. In her free time, Dr. Jolin loves baking and reading.
For her undergraduate studies, Dr Juvan attended the University of Central Arkansas and graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree(cum laude) in 1997. She then went on to attend Louisiana State School of Veterinary Medicine completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2002.
After graduating from LSU, she packed up and moved to to sunny south Florida to be close to the beach. Dr Juvan has practiced as a small animal veterinarian in Florida for over 14 years. She also briefly lived and worked in Missouri and Texas. Dr. Juvan’s special interests include dermatology. She is member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Florida Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Juvan and her husband have four much adored dogs and one very loved cat. They love living in Florida where they can enjoy many outdoor activities year round. In her spare time she trains and competes in triathlons, adventure/obstacle course races, and is a regular at the local cross-fit gym. She is also an avid paddleboarder and mountain biker.

Dr. Fillip relocated to Florida, and spent the last 14 years working at a small animal practice in Lake Worth. Dr. Fillip provides experienced and compassionate care for your furry family members.
In her off time, she enjoys boating with family, going to the beach with friends, and spending time with her nine-year-old son. Dr. Fillip’s pet family includes a lab mix named Tipper, a Brussels griffon mix named Chewy, a Potcake named Hemi, two lovable but mischievous cats Bear and Squirtle, and most recently 6 chickens.
Dr. Rew received both her undergraduate degree and her Veterinary Degree from the University of Florida (Go Gators!). Upon graduating in 2009, she moved to Amelia Island and spent 11 years working for Fernandina Beach Animal Clinic, a small animal practice. She joined Palm City Animal Medical Center in January, 2022 with Dr. Sentell and his team to serve the local community.
Dr. Rew loves the diversity being a small animal veterinarian provides. Being able to care for a pet from their first visit to their last and developing those family relationships during that time is something she finds incredibly special and unique to the profession.
In her spare time, Dr. Rew enjoys spending time with her family, as well as their two dogs, Kasey and Zoey, and their cat, Stitch. She loves running, lifting weights, being outdoors, cooking, and genuinely enjoying all that life has to offer.
“When I look into the eyes of an animal, I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.” I am honored to work in a profession where every day I have the ability to provide care for these animals and the people who love them.
Dr. Alzatari's educational journey took him to the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Biology. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Alzatari pursued his passion for veterinary medicine and earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University.Outside of his professional life, Dr. Alzatari enjoys staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He finds fulfillment in working out at the gym. One of Dr. Alzatari's major personal goals is to travel to as many countries as possible. He recognizes the value of experiencing different cultures, exploring diverse landscapes, interacting with local biodiversity, and fostering a global perspective in his veterinary practice.
Recently retired, Dr. Hummel and his wife Jill relocated to Florida. Missing the practice of veterinary medicine Dr. Hummel feels blessed to have joined the team at Palm City Animal Medical Center. In his free time Dr. Hummel enjoys all things outdoors and looks forward to exploring everything Florida as to offer.
